Preachers we have two important special announcements

The Rev. Erwin Crider, 82, of Rocky Face, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Hamilton Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lula Belle Crider; sister Lula McGill; brothers Jim, John, George, and Allen Crider, son Jerry LaDon Crider.

Mr. Crider pastored several area churches among those being Friendship Baptist Church, Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Rocky Face Baptist Church and Eton Baptist Church. He was a local successful businessman who owned and operated Crider Electric Motor and Dalton Tool and Equipment Rental, both located since their beginning on East Morris Street.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Stella Weaver Crider; daughters, Pat (Wilburn) Davis, Gail (Mike) Murphree; sons, Tommy (Mary Lynn) Crider, Gary Crider and Kay Crider. Grandchildren include Jerry (Lisa) Davis, Rex Davis, Tanner (Stacy) Thomas, Samuel Murphree, Ashley (Abdel) Al-Tamimi, Tyler (Ashely) Thomas, Colby Crider, and Allison Murphree; great-grandchildren Christopher, Bruce, and Joshua Davis; sisters, Mae Bell and Rosie Morrison; nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life for the Rev. Erwin Crider will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at South Dalton Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Atkins, the Rev. Trammell Campbell and the Rev. Roy Gentry officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
