50th Anniversary
Celebration
Dear Friends,
We the three children of Dr. Stinnett Ballew along with our mother wish to give you a special invitation to attend the celebration of his 50th anniversary in the ministry. Daddy preached his first message on September 25, 1960. The Lord has blessed him to preach now for fifty years. There are three special events planned as part of the celebration.
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights September 22-24, 2010, Daddy will be preaching in a Jubilee Celebration Meeting at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, where Bro. Marvin Carr is Pastor. This church is located about ten (10) miles south of Cleveland on the Spring Place Road (Highway 74). These services will begin each evening at 7:00.
- Then the highlight of the celebration is planned for Saturday, September 25 at the Concord Baptist Church where Bro. Sammy Allen is the Pastor. This is daddy and mother’s home church and is located four miles west of Fairmount, Georgia and ten miles east of I-75 at Exit 312 near Calhoun, Georgia. We will begin the evening with a walk-in reception from 5:00 to 7:00 in the fellowship hall there at Concord. Then at 7:30 that night we will have a special service celebrating the mercy and grace of God that he has bestowed upon our daddy and our family.
- Thirdly on Sunday evening September 26, at 6:00, daddy will be going back to the Mountain Springs Baptist Church located about a half mile off Highway 411 on the Ball Play Road. This is about five miles north of the Tennessee/Georgia state line, and about five miles south of Old Fort, Tennessee. This is the church where daddy was a member when God called him to preach and where he preached his first message. Daddy says he is going back there where it all started to kick off his second fifty years of preaching.
Mother and we children are putting together a scrapbook as a memorial to be presented to our daddy as part of this celebration. We are asking that if our daddy has been a blessing to you and his ministry has influenced your life for the glory of God to write a note or a letter to be placed in this scrap book. Also, we would like to have a copy of any photos that you may have of him. PLEASE NOTE: This is only a few days away so, especially if you are going mail your contribution or photos to the scrapbook, do it as quickly as possible to give us time to compile the scrapbook.
We understand that many of you will not be able to come, but please send daddy a note and pray for the meetings that the Lord will bless the services. Thank you.
