Dear Friends,
Two prayer requests for you and your family for this New Year. First, our Staff Evangelist, Brother Roger DeHart, was taken to Memorial Hospital on Saturday (1-1-10). He had a stroke, but has his speech and limb movement. The effects right now are minimal. He is in room 113. If you would like to bring a card to the church, then I plan to see him Sunday afternoon and will take them to him. Please pray for him and his wife, Paula.
Secondly, Brother James Luttrell, Sr., 88 years of age, went to Heaven on Friday (12-31-09) morning. He had taught Sunday School at LDBC for 36 years; had driven a bus for the bus ministry, and was on the pulpit committee when they asked me to be the pastor of LDBC in 1995. He was a WWII veteran, a U.S. Marine, and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries in hand to hand combat with Japanese soldiers. The visitation is from 4-8 PM at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel (TN 153) and the funeral service will be Sunday at 2 pm at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church on Signal Mtn. Please pray for his family.
I hope to see you Sunday in Sunday School. I remain
Your Friend,
Randy Bell, Pastor of Lupton Drive
