Greetings, brethren!
We would like to thank Bro. Wayne Cofield and the members of Whitfield Baptist Church for hosting our meeting last month. It was a very special time. The fellowship honored Bro. Herschel Hicks and Sister Linda for their faithful service to the Lord. Bro. Herschel just retired from Nellie Head Memorial Baptist Church after 28 years of service. BTW – Bro. and Sister Hicks would like to thank everyone for the gift card and flowers. We also recognized Bro. Wayne Cofield and his church for celebrating their 35th anniversary. Then Bro. Herschel preached a Spirit anointed message followed by Bro. Stinnett Ballew’s message on the need for the power of the Holy Spirit in our ministries. Indeed, the Spirit came down.
We also want to thank Bro. Brian Haney for doing such a great job representing our fellowship at the statewide meeting of the Independent Baptist Fellowships of Georgia. More than 100 preaches attended the meeting over the two days. Make you plans to attend next year’s meeting.
Our next tristate meeting is Thursday, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun where our moderator, Bro. Tim McCulley, is the pastor. Our scheduled preachers are Bro. Jeff Fugate, the pastor of Clays Mill Road Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, and Bro. Larry Underwood from Dunlap, TN. Please pray for a great meeting.
Directions to Philadephia Baptist Church, 358 Hensley Road SE • Calhoun, GA 30701. From points north: Take exit 312 off of I-75. Turn right on GA 53 and go about 1 mile. Turn left on S Wall St US41/GA3. Go 3.3 miles and turn left on Hensley Road. At the “T” take a right to stay on Hensley and follow the road to the top of the hill. From points south: Take exit 306 off I-75 and turn left onto GA140 toward Adairsville. Go 1.3 miles and turn right onto US41/GA3. Go 3.8 miles and turn right onto Hensley Road. At the “T” take a right to stay on Hensley and follow the road to the top of the hill.
