Dear Pastor, I am coordinating an effort to defeat the referendum appearing on the November ballot for the city of Ft. Oglethorpe in regard to the Sale of Alcohol on Sundays.
We need 451 votes to defeat this. I am focusing primarily on the Tri-State Fellowship churches. There are enough Independent Baptist Churches with members living in the Ft. Oglethorpe city limits to go vote on this in November to defeat it. It is my desire to get a response ASAP from any Pastors who will present this to their people and attend a meeting, hopefully before the end of September, to further discuss what this is all about. It has been suggested that perhaps a voter registration card be shown and how to properly submit it to be registered for this vote. Please call me @ #423-903-6464 very soon with your interest. I am including the voting information.
Last day to register to vote: October 11th
Early voting: October 18th through the 28th @ City Hall in Ft. Oglethorpe. from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. This is the Absentee / In Person voting.
Advanced voting: October 31st through November 4th @ City Hall in Ft. Oglethorpe from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. NOTE: November 3rd the poll will be open until 7 p.m.
Actual voting day: November 8th @ Constitution Hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Keep in mind that this vote is a testing ground for other cities and communties in the North Georgia area. We are really hoping to defeat this in November. Thanks for all your time and consideration on this most important issue.
God bless you, George G. Goss / Victory Baptist Church, Rossville
