Our dear Brother and fellow soldier in the ministry Bro. Loyd Guffey went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, Feb. 1, 2008, at his home in Tunnel Hill. Bro. Guffey was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Walker County, GA. The family will receive friends at Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church in Dalton, GA from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday Feb. 2nd. and at the church after 1 p.m. Sunday.Services to celebrate the life of the Rev. What a great fellowship meeting we had at the Lakeside Baptist Church. Brother and Sister Hawkins provided two beautiful songs that blessed our hearts. We heard two very challenging messages. First Bro. Ronnie Brown preached a great message from 2 Peter 1:12-21 on “God’s Witnesses.” The witness of the… (1) Apostles, (2) Almighty, and (3) Authority of His Word. Second Bro. George Palmer preached from 1 John 3:3 on “How my belief in the return of Christ affects my life and ministry.” What a great blessing it was to hear testimony of faithfulness to the ministry in light of looking for the return of Jesus. Thanks preachers for preaching to us the Good Word of God.
